Biosyn. Monofilament synthetic absorbable suture material.

Description of the material: Biosyn is manufactured by Glycomer 631, consisting of glycolide (60%), diaxanone (14%) and trimethylene carbonate (26%). Material Characteristic:
excellent initial strength;
excellent in vivo strength throughout critical period wound maintenance;
excellent knot strength;
•Has minimal memory.
Indications: Biosyn is designed for tissue matching and/or ligation in general, thoracic surgery, urology and gynecology, ophthalmic surgery. It is not recommended for use in cardiovascular and neurosurgery.
Action: Biosyn does not cause an inflammatory reaction in tissues. Biosyn suture resorption occurs by hydrolysis. The suture material breaks down into glycolic acid, diaxanic acid, propane dioxide and carbon dioxide.
Strength: Conducted research in the field of Biosyn subcutaneous suture implantation has determined that approximately 75% of the node strength remains in the first 2 weeks and about 40% persists after 3 weeks after suture implantation.
Resorption: The resorption process begins as a loss of strength without loss of mass and ends between 90 and 110 days.
Sterilization: Ethylene oxide.
Packaging: Biosyn suture is produced in a colorless or purple-colored version. Possible sizes range from USP1 (M4) to USP6-0 (M0.7). Sterile suture material is supplied in sections with various types of needles. Boxes of 12, 24 and 36 pieces.
